ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I have long recognized the power, the magic, the impact of words; and this began my love affair with writing at the age of four. My name is Anita Davis-DeFoe, and I thank you for stopping by this site.

Born in North Carolina, I lived in Pennsylvania, New York and now Florida. Academically speaking, I have earned Bachelor and Masters degrees, and I have a Ph.D. in Management with a concentration in Human Resource and Organization Development. I have come to understand and accept that writing is my passion and divine purpose.

I spent some ten years in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands teaching high school and college students. From these vast experiences, the Caribbean and her people hold a special place in my heart. Working to empower women and girls has been my focus for quite some time, and from my own life journeys came my book, “A Woman’s Guide to Soulful Living…Seven Keys to Life and Work Success.”

Currently, I am an Associate Editor with the Caribbean Voice, a South Florida newspaper; I write an advice column for She-Caribbean, a St. Lucian magazine that is sold in 16 islands, Canada and London; and I am a television host on Caribbean Weekly, which is produced by the Florida and Jamaican based Duke of Earle Group.
